We aim to retain our customers for life, with immense care and time taken changing tyres on your usually expensive alloy wheels, so every tyre change is a perfect one.

Tyres up to 22 inches can be changed by our high specification equipment.

Tyre sizes explained

Your size is on the side wall of your existing tyre, or in your vehicle’s handbook. It looks like this:

185/65R15 88H
185
The width of the tyre at its widest point, in millimetres.
65
The sidewall height as a percentage of the width: here 65% of the width.
R
Radial. If there is no letter, it is a cross ply tyre.
15
The diameter of the wheel the tyre fits, in inches (yes, tyre sizes mix metric and imperial).
88H
The load and speed ratings: the number is the load rating and the letter is the speed rating.

The full example reads 185/65R15 88H. Call us with your size for our very best price.

Full Geometry 3D Wheel Alignment

Our state-of-the-art 3D aligner allows adjustment of camber, caster & toe. Poor wheel alignment is one of the premier causes of premature tyre wear, and it’s not only the front wheels that can go out of alignment: rear wheels can be too.

As well as better fuel economy and potentially smoother handling and steering, correct wheel alignment will extend the life of your tyres and help to reduce wear and tear on your car.

How do you know if your wheels are out?

Alignment needs checking by us professionals, but signs include your car pulling to one side when you’re driving, or premature and irregular wear across the width of your tyres.

What knocks it out?

It is remarkably easy: accidentally hitting the kerb, thudding through a large pothole, or regularly travelling on bumpy, uneven and gravelly roads.

Wheel alignment can be measured in 3 ways

Toe In or Toe Out

How parallel the wheels are to one another when viewed from above. Toe in or toe out causes excessive tyre wear: scrubbed or worn inner or outer edges of the tread.

Camber

The angle of the wheel against the road, viewed from the front. The right camber keeps your tyres vertical to the road; the wrong one wears the tyre edges early.

Caster

The angle of the steering pivot viewed from the side. It matters for straight line stability and the load on your steering components, so it needs to be balanced and equal on both sides.

We have the latest equipment and highly skilled technicians to inspect and set up your vehicle correctly.

Servicing

You should ideally service your car every year, as it’s a vital part of keeping it in good running order. A correctly serviced vehicle can actually cut running costs significantly: a dirty and clogged air filter alone can increase your fuel consumption by a hefty 10%.

Brakes

We inspect and advise on your vehicle’s braking performance, so you and your passengers are in the very best hands. If braking efficiency is below what is expected for your car, it can also fail its MOT test.

  • If you notice any unusual noises or vibration when braking, or excessive brake pedal travel, get your car checked without delay.
  • Brakes wear at different rates with vehicle type, parts and driving style, so checks catch problems early.

Exhausts

We can offer expert local service prices that national companies find hard to match. Our range of high quality exhausts and catalytic converters comes from top manufacturers like Walker, Bosul and Timax.

  • We can give your exhaust a visual check completely free of charge.
  • For an accurate quote we need to know exactly what model your vehicle is, and we can get that from your registration number. Just pop in or call.

Suspension

Your springs smooth the ride and your shock absorbers dampen it, keeping your tyres as firmly planted as possible. Worn shock absorbers can potentially add up to 2 metres when stopping sharply.

Whilst we can fit original equipment shock absorbers, our staff have immense experience with suspension upgrades. Whether it’s just 15mm lowering kits or coilover kits, tell us what you’re after and we’ll give you professional, friendly advice.

Batteries

On modern vehicles, a battery that starts a car perfectly well one minute can suddenly and without warning let you down when you need it most. Make sure you don’t get caught out.

We can inspect and test your current battery and advise if replacement is required, and our friendly, trained staff will fit a new one at the most competitive prices around.
